Merry Christmas Everyone!

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Finally, Christmas Day! Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year coming up in a week! Here is this year’s Christmas card design which you may or may not have seen already.

What’s awesome is now I can post all of the presents I made for most everyone! There are still a couple that I made for friends that haven’t received them yet (and that I haven’t finished yet, haha) But they will be coming in the future. Here are the ones I made so far!

This one is a large lined knitted grocery-ish bag that’s lined with denim.

Here is a smaller hand bag/purse thing that I knitted for my aunt:

I drew on some white canvas shoes for my younger brother. Everyone loved them and now I have people asking for them! I will be doing commissions for them in the new year.

Christmas Drawing & Muffins

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Today we are still out of milk and bread in the house and I have yet to get off my lazy bum to go buy some. It’s just now that there are only 11 days until Christmas (Can you believe it?!) the stores are always so busy! I feel like the best time to get groceries is at Walmart at 4am so it won’t be crowded. I’d go in the morning, and it would be crowded, same as in the afternoon and evening. There’s just no winning. Anyway.

I managed to scrounge together what I had and made a dozen oatmeal muffins. I was in the mood for something bread-like to counter the smoothie I was having this morning, and they came out quite delicious! I think next time I’ll replace the white sugar for brown sugar and maybe add some cinnamon :D

I also managed to take some time to myself on Friday and doodled a little Christmas Themed picture. It’s not done yet, it’s still only in the inked stage, but I figured I’d share it with you anyway :) I am not sure if I will colour it digitally or try my hand at traditional for the first time since.. forever. I haven’t coloured anything by hand since Anthrocon! Yikes! Anyway, here she is.

Less than 12 days until Christmas! Eee!

Christmas Approaches

Friday, December 11th, 2009

So I haven’t been updating.. mostly because all I’ve been creating have been Christmas gifts! And since I link this blog to friends and family, the very friends and family I am creating for, I don’t want to give anything away! So I am documenting everything I’m making, it’s just going to be a while before I can show everyone what it was that I made. I will in the meantime show you the Christmas tree that Brad put up. I picked out the ornaments which are teal and silver, and he picked out some really nice black sparkly ones. We also found really cute LED snowflake shaped lights which look beautiful on our little tree. And it is a little short, it’s standing on a desk right now. All the more room for tons of presents!

I also sent out my Christmas cards this past week, so hopefully everyone will get them before the 25th. And if not, well they can be Happy New Year cards instead ;) I’ll be showing you guys the image that I drew for the Christmas cards on Christmas day. I haven’t let ANYone online see the Christmas card design I made for this year yet, but I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise for anyone who was going to see it in the mail!

Unrelated to all that, while I was knitting up gifts, I watched the entire series of Angelic Layer. It was a series done by my favourite artists CLAMP, that I still had yet to look into. Personally I normally rather read their manga and then watch the anime later, but this was nice because I could knit and have it playing in the background. I really feel like making some fanart for it, although that may have to wait until I’m done with all of these gifts *_* But anyway, the characters were adorable, the story was simple but cute, and it made me cry at the end ;_; totally worth it though. I wouldn’t recommend the English dub though, the actors were very over the top. Unfortunately that’s all I had since I couldn’t read subtitles and knit at the same time, and my Japanese is all but a little rusty! Anyway, I recommend it for CLAMP fans for sure. Not their greatest work, but definitely worth a look.

That’s all for now, Happy Holidays, and safe Christmas shopping!

Chapter 11 – Port Silverburg

And that will be all for Stanley Brambles sketches this month because I’ll be using all of my time to catch up on some website commissions as well as making Christmas gifts and cards :) Happy December!

New Office (again!)

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Two events in one! The master bedroom of the house was painted a pretty trio of grey blues. Dark on top, a thin light stripe in the middle and a midtone on the bottom. It looks really great! We had help from family to do most of it. I really like the look of the stripe, which we totally got from Lowe’s paint sample card.

Brad and I have also decided that the bedroom that was the office before is now to be the future baby’s room. Brad was awesome and moved all of my office furniture into the newly painted room and it looks great! And now, I share some pictures :)
