Brad & I have a lot of plans for the house. Some things have already been done, such as the carpeting all over. In every room but one, the carpeting was taken out and replaced with brad new Berber carpets. The one room that wasn’t redone was the master bedroom. We decided that we’d use one of the smaller sized bedrooms for our own room, and then convert the master bedroom into an office. This was great for me because it would mean I would have my own closet, lots of space, plus the en-suite bathroom. It would be a functional work area that I wouldn’t have to hang around in the kitchen all day to work in. (The common problem as you may have seen in previous weeks was that whenever I’m working in the kitchen, I end up eating and cooking a lot more than I end up working). So anyway, today I emptied a chunk of the master bedroom’s junk and put it aside to make room for us to paint. The image I linked here is an image of the guest room, which will serve as our temporary office.
Today I spent the better part of the afternoon setting up this temporary office. We had some leftover desks and furniture for a makeshift set of desks and shelving. I set up my docking station that I got with my laptop, so that I could set it in to charge when I needed it, but not be tied to that area if I wanted to doodle elsewhere. Also unpacked several boxes and art supplies and other goodies. I’m really liking it so far
I might get attached to this spot, haha. The master bedroom will be a lot nicer though, we’re going to paint it and put in laminate flooring.
Not that this will matter to a lot of you, but I am really excited about this docking station. Brad added it to the order when he got my laptop online, and it was totally worth it. It plugs into the wall so I can charge my laptop without plugging in the actual laptop. It also adds 6 USB ports to my piddly 2 ports that the laptop has built in. 8 total ports! (I’m really happy about this if you can’t tell
) Also, even though the laptop is a tablet PC, I plugged in my external drawing Tablet (the black drawing pad there) so that I can draw from the desk when it’s docked. This is handy because the external one is a little more pressure sensitive, and easier on my back when I’m working at a desk and not from my lap. Also you can see that I plugged in a mouse… SO much better than using a track pad. The room is lacking when it comes to decoration, but its final purpose is as a guest room so I’m not too worried about that just yet!
In other news, I spotted this little guy today. I saw him hitch a ride on Dizzy when he came inside, and then hop onto the sliding glass door. I was able to grab him and safely deposit him back outside
